Main Duties & Responsibilities
Key Tasks
- Foster a warm and welcoming atmosphere that promotes resident independence and dignity.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of individualised care to residents.
- Supervise and lead a team of care assistants, providing guidance and support.
- Administer medications.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Perform personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs, ensuring the health and safety of residents.
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals.
- Participate in developing, implementing, and updating care plans and carrying out review meetings.
- Maintain a clean and organised environment in the care home.
- Uphold confidentiality and respect for residents’ rights and privacy.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents.
Employer Expectations Skills/Knowledge/Experience
- SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Trained to administer medication
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Compassion and empathy for others.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive mindset and attitude.
