Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive Maintenance Assistant to join our team, providing essential support across two key locations.
Our Care Homes are a little over 2 miles apart- with minibus available to travel between sites.
In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for ensuring that both sites are maintained to the highest standards, performing routine maintenance tasks, minor repairs, and addressing any issues that arise promptly to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Key Tasks
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on the facility’s infrastructure and equipment.
- Conduct safety inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and residents.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to residents and their families.
- Be knowledgeable and confident in carrying out various areas of maintenance work.
- Identifying hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair.
- Identify, document and report maintenance issues.
- To ensure full compliance with all Legal Legislation- Health & Safety, Fire Safety, Agreed Codes and Working Practises.
- Daily, Weekly and Monthly Auditing with Corrective Action Planning.
- Immediately report issues or failures that impact on legal legislation or service level.
- Liaising with Care Home Manager and Contractors.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment whilst completing tasks within specified time limits and to a high standard.
- Meet your targets and contribute to those of the team as a whole.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Good communication skills
- Experience of digital records and maintenance software applications
- Must have driving license and be able to drive.
- Professional qualifications along with previous experience of working in a care setting is desirable.
- Resident transport via Care Home Minibus.

Qualifications/Tickets/Licences Required
- This role requires a PVG and two references
- UK driving licence (essential)
