Job Overview
Family-owned independent business starting a new journey into providing great food in a relaxing atmosphere within our brand-new establishment.
We would like to employ local staff from the community to come on this exciting new journey with us.
As Cook/Manager you will run the kitchen Monday to Saturday 8am-5.30pm with 30mins lunch break.
20 days annual leave and 9 public holidays.
Starting pay will be £25,000 plus bonuses as per store performance.
Once up and running and staff are fully trained you could potentially be working 5 days rather than 6.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Key Tasks
- Prep food for the day ahead making sure hygiene compliance is up to date.
- Order and deal with wholesalers alongside front of house assistant.
- Staff rota for the week/month which will be done online.
- Identify opportunities to actively market, promote and develop our business.
- Keep accurate financial and administrative records.
- Provide an efficient and effective kitchen and front of house service to customers, understanding their needs and requirements, working to exceed these wherever possible.
- Demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic, committed, and flexible attitude towards customers and other team members, recognising the importance and benefits of effective team working.
- Deliver and maintain a quality service at all times in line with our Customer Service Standards Policy and Procedures.
- Take responsibility for the kitchen and front of house area, ensure this is maintained in line with current Health & Safety legislation.
- Carry out other duties in line with organisational requirements.
Employer Expectations Skills/Knowledge/Experience etc
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Previous experience in running a café/bistro essential.
- Barista experience.
- First Aid.
- Computer literate (till/rota/ordering stock).
- Experience within the hospitality industry.
Qualifications/Tickets/Licences Required
- Catering qualification such as REHISS or equivalent
