Job Overview

We are the largest, privately held spirits company founded in 1862 are now an extended family of more than 7,000 employees.
We are currently looking to recruit a Control Room Operator to work 2 shift patterns, either days/ back rotation or weekend.
The Control Room Operator will play a leading role within the team to ensure all brown spirit is processed for current demands and NMS filled for the future growths across the whisky portfolio.
Hours will be 36 per week, however we would also consider part time and jobs shares.
2 Week rotation
Week 1/Days – Monday – Thursday 6am – 2.30pm Friday 6am – 12noon
Week 2/Back – Monday – Thursday 2.15pm – 11.45pm
Weekend Shifts – Friday – Sunday 6am – 6.15pm
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Key Tasks
- Stock management of all cask types with focus on fit for filling status.
- Warehouse management of all cask stocks –palletized and racked warehousing.
- Engagement and ownership of process safety within the bulk operational area.
- Exposure to control system automation and quality management systems in the form of PCS7, DRAMS and EMCS.
- Promote and cascade the philosophy of Safety First ensuring conformance Company Vision and Values.
- Active participation in process and continuous improvements across all functional aspects of department.
Employer Expectations Skills/Knowledge/Experience etc
- Excellent numeric and literacy skills.
- Effective communication skills (must be fluent in English).
- Driving license essential for supporting both sites at Poniel and Westthorn.
- FLT (counterbalance) experience.
- Relevant IT systems experience (Microsoft Office, DRAMS, EMCS, Flow log, PCS7).
- Knowledge of cask handling, repair and management.
- Previous exposure to product quality management systems.
- Knowledge of production planning systems (desirable).
- Prior experience of EHS systems in relation to flammable liquids.
- Familiarity with whisky processes (desirable).
- Knowledge of KPI Recording (desirable).
- Lean Six Sigma methodology experience and knowledge of 5’s principles (desirable).
